Who you are – Taylor Davis
Originally from Upstate New York now living on the other side of the US in San Jose California. Lifelong learner with special interests in Data Science, IoT, Agriculture and Climate change.

What you do
Data Analyst – Primarily for Aerospace External Engine Hardware. I develop financial plans and reports to show clients how certain business decisions have impacted or will impact their bottom line.

What projects you work on
Currently working on a solar powered IoT device that will provide basic data including temperature, humidity, soil moisture, and light intensity. I ultimately plan to use this data to create a basic machine learning model for urban patio plant survivability. This project is part of my personal development plan geared towards understanding how to best assist machine learning engineers from a data analyst/data engineering perspective.

What skills/tools/resources you can bring to GOAT
Well rounded data skills and technical knowledge and team work. I’ve supported multiple open source projects/hackathons outside my primary work. This has helped me learn how to read a project status, adapt and ultimately support a teams current needs.

Why openness in ag is important to you
Openness is important for understanding and leveraging our current resources for critical innovation. The more we discuss our work together the faster we can learn and create new ideas needed by our community.
