Current work:
I am currently in the early stages of an exciting project called ADAPT (Advancing the Development of Agricultural Workers’ Proficiency with new Technologies). This initiative focuses on preparing farmworkers for the rapidly evolving agricultural landscape by creating innovative training programs and resources. As part of this, I am actively engaging with ag tech developers, farm operators, and farmworkers to better understand their needs and perspectives. Additionally, I have a keen interest in exploring key topics such as worker safety in the presence of collaborative ag robots, data privacy for agricultural workers, and the broader potential of ag tech. There’s so much to learn, and I’m thrilled to dive deeper into these fascinating areas!
Background:
I grew up on a farm in Yuba City (specializing in peaches and raising animals) and have a long-standing connection to agriculture. I previously co-owned “The Cloverleaf Farm,” an 8-acre organic farm in Davis, and worked with the Cooperative Extension in their Small Farms program. Currently, I’m with the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety, where I continue to be deeply involved in agricultural development.
Interests:
Ag tech is fundamentally reshaping how we grow food, and I’m eager to explore every aspect of this transformation. From automation, data-driven farming techniques, and how this will affect farmers and farmworkers. I’m curious about all things ag tech. I’m also learning new technical skills, including Python, to better understand and contribute to this exciting field. If anyone has tips or resources to share, I’d love to connect!
Please tell me what you love:
I love learning. There is so much I don’t know and I love that! It gives me room to explore and learn. Please nerd out about whatever passion project you are working on or whatever niche area you have been dabbling in. I want to hear it all.
