Feedback Summary
We kicked off the “GOAT Digestion Session” community call at 12:03 and asked Semra to open with her Feedback Summary for GOAT 2024 (see recording period 0:-19:00). If you missed the call, watch Semra’s summary and let us know below if you have additional feedback!
Activity - Improvements for GOAT
Ankita followed up the feedback review presentation with a Miro activity that prompted attendees to identify tangible improvements to GOAT broadly across four segments - budget/resources, coordination over time, governance and facilitation, and collaboration across space (see recording 19:30-12:00 for the prompt). Activity - GOAT Community Roadmap
Next, Ankita had attendees populate the road map with actual tasks they think should be prioritize, are actively pursuing, want to begin pursuing soon, or want to pursue in the more distant future (see recording 21:00-23:00 for the prompt). Community Stewardship Interest Survey
We moved on to the topic of Community Stewardship. Juliet requested that attendees fill out an interest form so we can begin the new year with formulating a community stewardship committee that encourages folks from the new guard join folks from the old in propelling the community forward (see 23:00-26:15). There are several community stewardship working groups identified so far: Governance, Community calls and reporting, Conference booth, Virtual events, Community mapping, Information and communication stack (websites/ slack/ etc), Fundraising, Finance / accounting, In-person events, and Communications and Outreach. Fill out the interest form and add any questions you have to the Miro board!
Community Call Format
Finally we discussed the format of the community call moving forward. Based on the 2024 needs assessment, we determined that the community call should be less frequent, be solely about community engagement, and that all logistics information should be funneled into the community stewardship meetings. In the last moments of the call, we asked folks for suggestions on product presentations, topic deep dives, and community activities for the community calls of 2025. All community calls moving forward will take place on the second Monday of the quarter at 10 am Pacific. If you missed the call, add a topic to the Miro board or respond below!
