AI in Ag Call: JUly 31st

Come to the call this week it’s here: Jitsi Meet

Who came? Joyce, Greg, Dorn, Denis, Dorn, Matt

(15m) - Updates and sharing. How are you using AI? What’s new news, what’s useful to share? What new workflows are you using?

  • (greg) planning to shift to non-claude process and setup
  • (joyce) focusing on PR descriptions,
  • (matt) working on react storefront and spun off 3 projects from that! One is accessibility related. Working to better remove PII so I can share code, a PII package.
    • The goal is how do I share my thread logs? Removing PII would help us share it directly.
  • (dorn) developing a CoP leading into the GOAT conference. How do we create a curriculum and coherence? Interested in collaborating with GOAT and OpenTEAM and others…
    • Also got about 12 farmhack box’s out (rasp pi 5 based). Part of a larger ecosystem balancing shared dev environment, network updates, and other functions.
  • (denis) he does tech support and testing. First use of AI - make my english more structured + better! Second use - better structure bug reports + observations.
  • (dan) software engineer. Background in machine learning, hated LLMs last year! Over the last 3 - 6 months… improved drastically.
    • He’s been working on getting his home server up and running
    • Been building up farmOS modules. Building out schedules, task reminders, fungus application scheduling

(greg) I’ve got one if folks are interested - I’m going to be setting up my new environment for AI, moving away from Claude and using tools like Hermes, Openrouter, and potentially hosting services like Hetzner instead of exe.dev. I’ve done some research on this, but will be implementing in the next 2 weeks! So would love all feedback, and maybe we can learn together in the call and I can work to get things set up.

(45m) - Pick a topic and run. We may split into groups depending on what the group wants. Here’s some options:

  1. (joyce) Update… another cohort of the community practice??
  2. (matt) Packaging Skill…
  3. (dan) Share some of his work. This is what we did!
    1. he’s got multiple plugins for claude. He’s got many skills also - orchardist, herd manager, tasks and weather, all kinds of stuff.
    2. he’s barkerd427 on github - go check it out! here’s some screenshots
