AI in Ag Call: June 19 2026 Today at 2pm EST

Hey folks, AI in Ag call will be happening today at 2pm EST. Meeting link is here: Jitsi Meet .

Open to potential topics (please post below). Right now it’s:

(15m) - Updates and sharing. How are you using AI? What’s new news, what’s useful to share? What new workflows are you using?

(45m) - Pick a topic and run. We may split into groups depending on what the group wants. Here’s some options:

  • Pair Code. One person can vibe code and others can watch and learn.
  • Project walk through. If there’s a project someone wants to present, get feedback on, etc.
  • Plan something together. Something you want to do together, get others to engage, or want to plan it together!

I have items we can jump into in case no one else has things. Here’s my items in case we want to run with them. Here’s mine if no one else has any:

  1. Just got Hermes set up in a virtual machine on exe.dev (thanks @GOATforMikeD !), working through setup and just learning how to interact with it. Happy to show and maybe we can do stuff there together.
  2. Built a full end to end testing system for FarmOS using playwright… pretty neat, would strongly suggest it. Can show how it works and where it might be useful for others.
  3. Would love to share progress from our OFN Power Users Community of Practice, which is killing bugs like Terminex. See progress here: https://cohort-dashboard-ofn-8906c5.gitlab.io/.

What’s in the market?

  • Matt - Planting trees! Using big whole method, warranted trees.
  • Juliet - the hills are gold! Fresh sweet corn, apricots.
  • Michael - Tulips + flowers; grasses are emerging + seed out, cheat grass.
  • Fosten -
  • Greg - Salad…

How are you using AI?

  • Matt - Used claude to troubleshoot a gitlab build. Linting issue, created by old claude! Putting out his markdown work he did before.
  • Juliet - Using AI to help clean up an enormous paper to cut word count (not content generation!)
  • Michael - AI office hours for global Savory Community. Using AI to generate the whole website + artifacts to next + move quickly.
  • Fosten - took the dive! Set up Hermes on Raspi 4 local, and Pi5 to install Ollama. Using openrouter. Got qwen on pi5. Fine tuning.
  • Greg - building farmOS, building transition sundays, law to meadows with hermes,

What’s new news, what’s useful to share?

  • Matt, Michael - Anthropic got Fable got pulled.
  • Juliet - E2E testing w/ Playwright.
  • Michael - how capable the OS models are!
  • Michael - limited quantum computing for inference… what crazy things could happen. @GOATforMikeD add a link!
  • Fosten - convo explaining AI to someone else was a powerful, personal experience.
  • GLM-5.2.

Anything to share or hear from others in detail today?

  • Matt - will share a link to gitlab for his project on the forum. Matt add link
  • Juliet - wants to build custom pages to interact with airtable and baserow using AI (custom-y web apps).
  • Michael - Has a demo, AI office hours for global Savory Community. Using AI to generate the whole website + artifacts to next + move quickly.

2 minute Questions

  • Did anyone try Fable before it got killed???
  • When to jump to OS models???

Link to a news article that’s less wonky but accurate. Quantum computing for inference using Llama.

Here’s the early prototype for the farm system UI I always wanted (which I demoed on one of the recent calls):
