AI in Ag Friday Call: April 24 Agenda and Notes

Hey folks, AI in Ag call will be happening today at 2pm EST. Meeting link is here: Jitsi Meet.

Open to potential topics (please post below). Right now it’s:

(15m) - Updates and sharing. How are you using AI? What’s new news, what’s useful to share? What new workflows are you using?

(45m) - Pick a topic and run. We may split into groups depending on what the group wants. Here’s some options:

  • Pair Code. One person can vibe code and others can watch and learn.
  • Project walk through. If there’s a project someone wants to present, get feedback on, etc.
  • Plan something together. Something you want to do together, get others to engage, or want to plan it together!

I have items we can jump into in case no one else has things. Here’s my items in case we want to run with them.

  • Let’s Contribute to FarmOS Conservation Planner! One person vibe code, others get set up, to contribute to FarmOS Conservation Planner! GitHub - farmier/farm_rcd: farmOS Conservation Planner · GitHub
  • Workflows Workflows Workflows. Let’s make a list of potential workflows we could built out, using journeykit.ai. I showed the Needs Assessment process I designed last week, but would love to build out more workflows and begin sharing them.

But please add yours below, or just show up!

Kenneth, Rachel, Greg and Mike attended.

  1. Ken - Interested in finding opportunities to add value. How can I leverage my background in tech by someone in ag? I’ve seen farmhack –> https://farmhack.org/
  2. Follow where the momentum is on open source tooling in the ag sector. She’s managing some projects that sit in the intersection between geospatial and ag… that can dovetail on the side. Encourage for people to contribute to collective effort.
    1. Looking for open source options for:
      1. nitrogen management applications
      2. agrifood supply chain modeling
      3. crop shifting modeling - looking at future climate scenarios (what crops will be suitable in different regions) @sudokita maybe folks at Regen Network…

Couldn’t keep up with the notes, but a very fun discussion about lots of things open ag tech!
