Float Pilot: bridging tech and food sovereignty movements

We are excited to be officially launching the pilot round for the Funding Lab for Open Agroecological Technologies - https://float.ag.

The theme for this inaugural round is bridging tech and food sovereignty movements. Just over a year ago we kicked this exploration off with the D:food/web convening within DWeb at Camp Navarro. We continued to weave these threads together through gatherings at Pie Ranch and Paicines Ranch. We even made a short film about this, which you can check out here!

Over the course of the next few months, we invite you to bring new ideas and existing projects to connect, iterate, and strengthen them through a facilitated process of peer to peer and expert feedback. These initiatives will then be funneled towards a peer based proposal and decision making process using a mix of co-budgeting and voting based on each project’s level of maturity. **Successful proposals will receive funding resource support through Float’s inaugural fund.
**
We will be using a suit of coordination and collaboration tools to facilitate this process, grounding it through a series of participatory workshops on Zoom. In the coming weeks we are kicking things off with the first three workshops.
