@dornawcox and I have started talking about the best way to create a calendar for events and other things with dates, e.g. grant deadlines. Our current thinking to to use a Discourse pluging like https://meta.discourse.org/t/events-plugin-calendar/69776 so that we don’t add a new tool to our tech suite and to keep all the content in one place.

Similarly, we could add something like https://meta.discourse.org/t/locations-plugin/69742 to map events or other location-related topics.

What do people think? Are there others who had ideas about the calendar who want to chime in?

Yes! Having a discourse plugin and everything in the one place sounds great to me!

Wow, that’d be awesome. If you do it, I’d love to share it over to GOSH too, we really need a calendar there for the next event, and there’s lots of additional events already happening people would love to know about.
