Hey folks, unfortunately I had a conflict but wanted to offer also that we have a public, bi-weekly AI in Ag call that happens Fridays from 2 - 3pm that’s been running since early last year.
It’s now on the [public GOAT Community Calendar] (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=dDJpb2psNDVkZmN0ZWwzamlvNnVxZzQ2c3NAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ) so if you subscribe to that you can find it there.
It’s an open call with a flexible agenda. Description below. We’d love to have you join and learn together!
A meeting to discuss the use of AI in Agriculture, specifically for those interested in Open Source Agricultural Technologies.
The agenda is fairly open, but typically:
-
People present work they’ve done relating to AI - developing AI toolchains, testing models, building data structures which support use of AI, etc. The goal is for us all to learn, give useful feedback, and find opportunities for collaboration.
-
People present a question or prompt relating to AI. eg What model should I use? How do I set up open source models locally? How do people feel the tech will change or shift in 6 months? Is this ethical? Etc.
-
People ask for help, or seek collaborators. A lot of this work is duplicative - everyone has to learn the same lessons. So we try to not relearn, and collaborate especially in the common areas.
-
People just come to listen and see what happens - Lurking is welcome
Also FYI - There’s also an adjacently related Common Farm Convention call on the GOAT community calendar now which is biweekly on Thursdays at 1pm EST.
